VIDEOGRAPHERS: Loudbyte Cinematography
Megan & Albert (July 2010) recently emailed asking if I had any suggestions for videographers - the last thing they need to check off on their list on vendors to book. Here's the funny thing about videographers: it's tough to find a good one. Many videographers just show up with a video camera, shoot some pan shots of guests dancing, blind them with their lights, edit the footage in iMovie, set it to "What a Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong, and call it a day. The lighting is bad, the audio is bad, star wipe, heart wipe. Fin.
Precisely why I like Loudbyte Cinematography, based in Chicago (but they service nationwide) -- they're a good standard to go by. Click here to see a list of NYC videographers listed on Wedding Wire.
As a guy with a television background, it's obvious they're using high-end cameras, have a creative eye, know how to edit and produce something thats more like a unique wedding film than a typical wedding video.

A few favorites:
Reception Trailer: Nikki & Matt
Take a look at 2:04 -- it takes a good videographer to frame that shot perfectly:
Ceremony: Tricia & Wael
Reception: Lesli & Jim
